Since every account includes at least one workspace — where you manage your [publications](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/14492955390871), [team members](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/9362967481367), billing details, and more — you’ll [need to delete](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/12430837307287) or [transfer ownership](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/31434899303447-transferring-ownership-of-a-publication-or-workspace) of all workspaces you own before you can delete your account. You will also need to [remove any custom domains](https://beehiivhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/28253481111703) that are connected to publications or websites in your workspace. While deleting your account is easy, it is also irreversible. The account associated with your email will be permanently deleted, and if you wish to use beehiiv in the future, you will need to create a new account and start over.  If you are on a paid plan, as an alternative to deleting your account, you always have the option to [downgrade your account to our free launch plan](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/13092031997847-how-to-change-your-beehiiv-plan-type-and-plan-tier#h_01JN7ES3MYKZVYDNXN3WA66ETT-how-to-downgrade-your-plan-type). This gives you the flexibility to return to beehiiv at any time, without any commitment, and without having to start over completely. ## How to delete your beehiiv account > **Important Notice** > > Prior to deleting your account or workspace, make sure that you have [removed any custom domain records](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/28253481111703-how-to-remove-a-custom-domain) tied to your publications or website. This will ensure that you will not have any issue reconnecting the domain in the future. 1. If you still own a workspace, you’ll see an Account Profile Deletion prompt explaining that you must first delete or transfer ownership of all workspaces before proceeding. - Click [**How do I transfer ownership**](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/31434899303447-transferring-ownership-of-a-publication-or-workspace) to open the help article. - Or click **Take me to my workspace settings** to manage your workspace directly and [follow the steps outlined in this article](https://www.beehiiv.com/support/article/12430837307287). ![](https://beehiivhelp.zendesk.com/hc/article_attachments/32057575177111) 3. A confirmation prompt will appear explaining that deleting your account is permanent and you’ll no longer be able to log in with your current email.
