How to use Lead Vision to track and convert your leads
Once you’ve started sharing your personal Partner Program link and are generating referrals, Lead Vision helps you monitor your referral lead activity and take action to increase conversions.
Located in your Partner dashboard, Lead Vision gives you real-time visibility into who your leads are and where they stand in the signup pipeline. With this insight, you can offer timely communications and encourage your leads to become active beehiiv customers.
In this article, we’ll explain how Lead Vision works and how to read each column in the dashboard, so you can use that information to boost your referral performance.
How Lead Vision works
Lead Vision is a powerful tool in your Partner dashboard that gives you transparency into your lead pipeline — helping you track progress and improve your referral conversions.
As soon as someone clicks your partner link and creates a beehiiv account, they become a lead. Lead Vision shows you who they are, what plan they’re on, and how much revenue they’ve generated. You can then use this information to better understand what’s working — and where to follow up — so more of your leads become long-term customers.
Using your Lead Vision dashboard
To access Lead Vision, click Share & earn in the top navbar of your account. Then navigate to the tabs below your partner link and click on Vision.
Your Lead Vision dashboard displays a real-time list of your referred leads, with the newest at the top.
Each row includes key information about your leads:
- Name: The name of the person who signed up through your link.
- Email: The email address of the referred customer/lead.
- Status: This field displays as Lead until the person becomes a paying beehiiv customer. Once converted, the field will update to reflect their plan type (Scale, Max, or Enterprise), and will also indicate if they’re currently in a trial.
- Became a lead: The date the lead entered the beehiiv system as your referral.
- Converted: The date when the lead subscribed to a paid beehiiv plan.
- Billing: Whether the lead is billed monthly or annually.
- Amount: Shows the gross revenue generated by the customer. Your referral commission is based on this amount.
How to get the most out of Lead Vision
Lead Vision isn’t just for tracking — it’s designed to help you be strategic.
Here are some best practices:
- Track lead progress: Check your dashboard regularly to see how your leads are moving through the funnel, from their first click to conversion.
- Engage trial users: Use the 'Status' column to identify leads in a trial period. This is a perfect opportunity for you to reach out and offer assistance, answer questions, or provide encouragement to help them see the value of beehiiv and convert to a paid plan.
- Focus on what works: Review your highest converting leads and their revenue impact to double down on the channels that deliver the best results.
- Use personalized outreach: Generally, leads shown here haven’t opted into your newsletter, so avoid mass emailing. Instead, reach out individually where appropriate to build trust and offer value.
