Ways to customize your post page

The post page in the Website Builder allows you to customize the look and layout of the web versions of your newsletter posts. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced designer, you can tailor the post page using either the default basic settings for a streamlined setup or opt for the Advanced mode for full design control.

Warning: This article covers the New Website Builder (available to all accounts). For guidance using the Legacy Website Builder (only available to accounts created before July 15, 2025), refer to articles in the Website Builder (Legacy) category.

Quick tips to get you started

  • While most of your site design is controlled in the Website Builder, the design of your actual post content is managed in the Post Builder. This ensures a consistent experience across both email and web.

  • If you haven’t already, you’ll be prompted to complete the Website Builder onboarding flow, which walks you through setting your theme preferences.

  • The posts page is dynamic, meaning it automatically pulls in your published web posts. You can customize the overall layout of the page, but you cannot set a unique design for each individual post

  • During the design process, you can enable placeholder data to preview how the page will look with content. You can toggle this off at any time to view your actual published posts.

  • Familiarize yourself with the 4 main parts of the Website Builder: the lefthand navigation panel, the navbar across the top, the canvas in the center, and the attributes panel on the right.

How to access your post page

  1. From the left panel dashboard, go to Website > Builder

  2. The Website Builder will open on the Pages tab. In the lefthand navigation panel, under Dynamic Pages, select Post

  3. At the top of the navigation panel, switch to the Layers tab to view the sections available for customization. When you do this, the attributes panel on the right will display its design options.

    Reminder:

Anytime you place a new element on the canvas, the left navigation panel will automatically switch to the Layers tab for that element, and the right attributes panel will update with its corresponding settings.

  4. From the Layers tab, click on Section to expand the list of editable sections.

Customizations available on the post page

Under Section in the navigation panel, you’ll find the customization options available for your post page. Click each tab below to expand and view the available settings.

    Post Header section

Basic options for the post header

These options cover the basic design options for the post header that are available by default. For additional control and layout flexibility, you can toggle on Advanced mode in the attributes panel.

    1. Open your post page in the builder (steps 1-4 above).
    2. In the left navigation panel, select Post Header from the Section list.
    3. In the attributes panel on the right, click Edit Post Header

Basic post header elements you can edit:
      • Background: Set a background color or image for the header. Choose from your theme colors or click the Custom tab to upload an image (Media tab), select a custom color (Color tab), or choose a color gradient (Gradient tab).
      • Border: Add a border and customize its style, color, and thickness/width.
      • Radius: Adjust the curvature of the corners. You can set a uniform radius or customize each corner individually.
      • Gap: Modify the space between your header and the content that follows.
      • Padding: Adjust the space inside the header. You can apply a single value or set padding individually for each side.
    Note:

Your website template may include a Socials element in the header; you can customize or remove this as needed. For full instructions, refer to our social links article

Advanced options for the post header

Toggling on Advanced mode at the top of the attributes panel unlocks full design flexibility for your post header. You’ll be able to adjust every element and layout detail individually.

Use the Search bar at the top of the attributes panel to quickly find specific settings.

Elements available in the post header

Depending on your selected theme, the post header may include elements such as: Breadcrumbs, Title, Subtitle, Tags, and Read time

You can customize any of these by clicking directly on the element in the canvas. This will open detailed styling options in the attributes panel on the right. You can also drag and drop elements to rearrange their order in the header.

    To add more elements:

    1. Click Insert Element on the top navbar.
    2. Select your desired element.
    3. Drag and drop it into the post header/canvas.
    4. Use the attributes panel to customize the new element’s design and layout.
    Post Content section

    Post content options

Most components in the Post Content section are not editable directly in the Website Builder. These design elements are controlled from the Style panel in the Post Builder and will carry over automatically to your web post.

The only customization available for this section within the Website Builder is the text color.

    Post Comments section

    Basic options for post comments

While in basic mode (meaning Advanced mode is not enabled), you can access simplified design settings for the post comments section using the attributes panel. Click the Configure button next to each element to open its customization options.

    • Title: Customize the text and text color of the title above the comment box.
    • Dropdown: Edit the text color, background color, border and border radius of the dropdown button that appears above the comments
    • Button: Configure the comment submission button. You can edit the submit text, submitting text, cancel text, submit button colors, and cancel button colors.
    • Text Area: Edit the placeholder text that appears in the comment box, padding around the comment box, color of the text, border of the comment box, and radius of that border
    • Pagination: Customize the ‘Load more’ button, including border, radius, padding, shadow, text color, background color, optional icon, icon placement, icon color, button text, loading text, and top margin.
    • Comment: Control the styling of published comments, including font, font size, font weight, and text color.
