Implementing the beehiiv Pixel for advertisers

The beehiiv Pixel is a piece of code on your website that can help you better understand the effectiveness of your newsletter campaign and the actions taken on your site as a result of your campaign.
As more people take action based on ads in various newsletters, the beehiiv Ad Network will begin to learn which publications are driving business results, and start identifying more publications that drive results. When you implement the pixel through your entire sales funnel, and pass conversion and custom events through each pixel fire, you’ll be able to measure the true business impact of your campaign.
Set-up instructions
For Google Tag Manager (GTM) users:
- First, connect with your beehiiv Ad Network point of contact about the correct pixel ID to use in your setup.
- Follow implementation instructions on the GTM pixel documentation page.
- Ensure you configure the pixel to pass all the conversion data fields that are associated with your business objectives.
- Make sure to confirm with your beehiiv point of contact that data is being logged correctly.
To implement manually:
- First, connect with your beehiiv Ad Network point of contact about the correct pixel ID to use in your setup.
- Identify a web developer who is able to update your website's code for manual pixel setup.
- Follow implementation instructions on the pixel documentation page.
- Ensure you implement the pixel to pass all the conversion data fields that are associated with your business objectives.
- Make sure to confirm with your beehiiv point of contact that data is being logged correctly.
For Shopify Site Users:
- Please utilize either of the above methods to place the “pageview” event on your site.
- For tracking purchases, as Shopify has their own sandbox environment, a specialized (yet
straightforward) setup is required. Please see the Shopify integration guide here.
For beehiiv Publishers using magic-links:
- First, connect with your beehiiv Ad Network point of contact about the correct pixel ID to use in your setup.
- The default magic link landing page will automatically track "Page View" events where users subscribe to your newsletter as that is hosted by beehiiv.
- Choose what page you want to redirect users to after they subscribe via magic link and provide that URL to your beehiiv point of contact (Example: advertiser.com/welcome?magiclink).
- Create a conversion event to fire when users reach the above redirect page using the same GTM or Manual implementation guides.
