How to sync your premium podcast feeds with Spotify

beehiiv is a Spotify Open Access Partner Platform, which means subscribers can access your premium podcast episodes directly in Spotify. To make this work, you'll connect your beehiiv premium RSS feed to Spotify for Creators using Spotify's Synced Feeds feature, keeping your free and premium content unified under a single show.

When Synced Feeds is active, Spotify merges both your public and premium feeds into one podcast page. What listeners see depends on whether they're subscribed:

  • Non-subscribers see all free episodes, locked premium episodes (with an upsell prompt), and any bonus content you've made publicly visible.
  • Subscribers see all premium episodes, bonus content, and any free episodes not duplicated in the premium feed.

If the same episode appears in both feeds, Spotify automatically pairs them to avoid duplicates. For lower-confidence pairs, you'll be asked to review and confirm the match before they're linked.

Before you begin

Make sure you have the following in place before starting:

  • Your podcast is already available on Spotify.
  • You have a Spotify for Creators account with access to your main (free) podcast. If not, follow these steps to claim your show.
  • You have published at least one premium episode in beehiiv and your premium RSS feed is enabled.

Step 1: Copy your premium RSS feed URL from beehiiv

  1. From the left panel dashboard, navigate to Podcasts.
  2. Select the podcast you want to connect to.
  3. Click into the Distribution tab and locate your Premium RSS Feed URL. Click on the Copy button to copy your RSS feed URL to your clipboard.

Step 2: Claim your premium feed in Spotify for Podcasters

Before you can sync your feeds, Spotify needs to recognize your beehiiv premium podcast as a separate show under your account.

  1. Log in to Spotify for Creators using the same account your main podcast is under.
  2. Click the account icon in the top right corner and select Add a new show.
  3. Select Find an existing show.
  4. Choose Somewhere else as your hosting platform.
  5. Paste your beehiiv Premium RSS Feed URL into the RSS feed link field and click Next.
  6. Confirm the podcast details and complete the verification. Spotify will send a verification code to your podcast's owner email.
  7. Once claimed, your premium feed will appear under Your shows in the sidebar.
Note: Your main (free) podcast must also be claimed under this same Spotify for Creators account for Synced Feeds to work. If it isn't already, claim it the same way using your main podcast's RSS feed.

Step 3: Connect your feeds

  1. From the Your shows menu on the left, select your main (free) podcast.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Sync your feeds section and click Learn more, then Get started.
  4. Set your premium beehiiv podcast as the Paid feed. Your main podcast will be pre-selected as the Main feed. Click Next.
  5. Define your member benefits on the following screen. You can update these at any time.
  6. Spotify will then search for matching episode pairs between your two feeds. Review and confirm any pairings as needed.

Once connected, your premium feed is linked to your existing public podcast on Spotify. You can also add a banner to promote your premium content to free listeners.

What happens next

  • Free listeners continue to receive all public episodes.
  • Subscribers can access premium episodes in Spotify.
  • Both feeds remain connected under a single podcast experience.

Frequently asked questions about syncing your premium podcast feeds with Spotify

My premium episodes aren't showing up in Spotify. What can I do?

Confirm the following. Most issues with premium episodes can be resolved with one of these options.

  • The Premium RSS Feed URL was copied correctly from beehiiv.
  • Your premium episodes are published (not in draft).
  • Spotify has finished validating the feed. This can take up to 24 hours.
Do I need to reconnect my public feed?

No. Your public feed stays exactly as it is. You're only adding the premium feed so Spotify can recognize your subscriber-only content.
