Auto login settings for your publication
Article Contents
Auto Login is a publication-level setting that controls whether a temporary secure link is included in email footer links. When enabled, subscribers can manage their preferences or unsubscribe directly from an email without needing to log in to their beehiiv account first.
You can find your auto login settings under Settings › General.
Auto login options
Three options are available. The options visible to you depend on whether your publication has paid content enabled:
- Auto-login for newsletters: Only free newsletter emails include the auto-login link. Paid emails do not. This is the default behavior.
-
Auto-login for free and paid newsletters: All outgoing emails include the auto-login link.
Tech Note: This option is only visible for publications with paid subscriptions enabled. - Never auto-login: No auto-login link is added to any emails. Subscribers must log in to manage preferences or unsubscribe.
Read online link expiration
When auto login is set to either of the enabled options, a Read online link expiration setting appears below it. This controls how long read-online links in your emails remain valid.
By default, this is set to 48 hours, but you can set a minimum of one hour or a maximum of one year (365 days, or 8,760 hours).
