# How to set up complimentary access for your paid subscriptions

Complimentary access lets you grant a reader full access to a paid tier at no charge, for a set duration or for life. It is managed from the **Offers** tab through its own separate flow, independent of [discount or trial offer creation](https://beehiivhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/28625118674711).

## How to create a complimentary access offer

1.  From the left panel, go to **Subscriptions**, then click on the **Offers** tab. 
2.  In the **Complimentary access** section, click on **\+ New offer**.

3.  Fill in the form:
    -   **Tier** (required): Select the tier to grant access to.
    -   **Time Unit** (required): Days, Months, Years, or Lifetime.
    -   **Duration** (required): Enter a number. This field does not appear if Lifetime is selected.

> **Important Note**
>
> Lifetime access cannot be revoked once given.

4.  Click on **Create**. The complimentary access offer will appear in the Complimentary Access section.

5.  Once you click on **Create**, you’ll be presented with a list of subscribers to give access to. Check the subscribers you want to grant access to, then click on **Grant access to subscribers**.

6.  Or, if you don’t want to grant access right away, click on **I’ll do it later** and follow the below instructions when you’re ready.

### How to apply complimentary access to an individual subscriber via their subscriber profile

1.  From the left panel, go to **Subscribers**. Search for or navigate to the subscriber, then click their name to open their profile.

2.  Click the down arrow next to **Unsubscribe** in the top right and select **Complimentary Access**.

3.  In the popup, select the complimentary access offer and click on **Grant access**.

### How to apply complimentary access to a group of subscribers

1.  From the **Complimentary access** section in the **Offers** tab, find the complimentary offer you want to extend, and click on **Grant access**.

2.  You’ll be brought back to your list of subscribers to give access to. Check the subscribers you want to grant access to, then click on **Grant access to subscribers**.
