Setting up the Events tab in your community
Bring your events in so members can see what's coming up, all from one place: your community. beehiiv currently supports showcasing your community events via Luma. If you already run events on Luma, setup takes about a minute and nothing needs to be rebuilt.
Before you begin
- You need a Luma account with a calendar.
- Your Luma calendar must be public for members to see it.
Step 1: Get your Luma embed code
- Go to Luma and sign in to your account.
- Click your calendar name in the left sidebar.
- Go to Calendar Settings → Embed.
- Copy the embed code Luma provides.
Step 2: Add your calendar to the community
- In your beehiiv dashboard, open Community from the left navigation, then select Events.
- Under Your Luma calendar, paste the embed code from Luma into the Luma embed code field.
- Save. Your calendar is now connected.
- Switch on Show Events in your community. This adds an Events tab to your community navigation; members see it once a calendar is added.
What members see
Members get an Events tab in the community navigation showing your upcoming events with dates, details, and registration, right inside the community. Registration itself happens through Luma.
You can hide the tab at any time by switching off Show Events in your community. Your saved calendar stays connected, so turning it back on is one click.
Make events part of your rhythm
Communities with a recurring event (office hours, a monthly AMA, a co-working session) give members a reason to come back on a schedule. For event formats that work at different community sizes, check out these resources from beehiiv's head of community.
